Magic City 2011

Heyyyyy everyone I hope your week has started off with a bang!  This weekend i visited Birmingham for the Magic City Classic.  It is an annual football game played between AAMU and ASU.  I haven't been to the classics since 2006, so it was definitely time for me to visit.  I traveled to Birmingham with some fellow coworkers abroad a Kappa charter bus, so you know that was an event in itself.  We arrived early to take part in the tailgating festivities followed by the game which AAMU won (20-19).  Every year the committee chooses a Grand Marshall for the weekend, this year it was the beautiful Lisa Raye McCoy.  I also spotted Ricky Smiley, who is a native of Birmingham, as i was leaving the stadium.  I'm not a football fan so the game wasn't that interesting to me but oooooh baby that halftime show was the business!  ASU may have not won the game but they damn sure won the halftime show courtesy of the HONEYBEES!  This was my first encounter of the bees and if you are not familiar with them, they are a group of full figured majorettes! Yes baby they were doing flips, splits, and down right working that field!  All in all i had a good time and cant wait til next year!

Warm Beer Cold Women!

This weekend was rather bittersweet for me.  My boyfriend is headed back to work for a couple of weeks so i get kinda sad when time draws near for him to leave.  Nevertheless we spent some quality time together.  On thursday at midnight we stood in line to watch Paranormal Activity 3 (we both love love scary/thiller movies) the movie was pretty good we just didnt like the ending! Friday we had plans to go to the Greater Gulf State Fair but once we got there it was a different story, the fair is too damn expensive we both was like WTH, so the fair was a no go lol.  Instead we went downtown to the Music Box which is a perdominately white club, he thought i would be uncomfortable for some reason but not i love people period i careless about color.  The Music Box was hosting their annual costume contest (sorry i have no pictures since it was a last minute venture)  anywho my boyfriend's friend won best costume he was Captain America!  He made the helmet out of paper mache which i thought was very creative!  We rounded off the weekend at home watching movies and him cooking because my baby is a great chef and I love to eat!

Weekend Fun!

My weekend was pretty full! I had a blast spending time with my boyfriend before he heads back to work Sunday.  On Saturday we attended the 1st Annual Hair Battle Assassination (sorry i have no pictures) i must admit it was very entertaining and creative.  My only problem was they didn't start on time and the barbers were not that good lol.  On Sunday we celebrated his birthday at the dog track, yea bad i know but its what he wanted to do.  On another note i got a new camera for my birthday last month and absolutely love it but i could not for the life of me figure out how to edit my pictures!  Recently, i came across  picnik.com it was just what i was looking for! Bayfest Weekend 2011 (Heavy Pics)

So last weekend was Bayfest Weekend here in Mobile (yall should visit) anyway its a weekend full of music and food. As far as i can remember we have had Bayfest and this was my first year attending all three days!  Bayfest features over 125 live musical acts on 9 stages and is held the first full weekend in October of each year.  This year was no different they offered some great acts and we had awesome weather!  So on Friday night the musical talent consisted of B.O.B. which i missed but i heard he did a great job and Ludacris which i was able to attend and he definitely did the damn thang!  On Saturday i attended the Sir Charles Jones, Clarence Carter,Ohio Players, and Jill Scott line up. They were all great performers but i gotta say Jill Scott! wow i literally have no words her voice is amazing and she is so beautiful!  On Sunday the lineup consisted of All-4-One which i caught the end of their performance but it was I Swear so of course they saved the hit for last lol.  Next was Mint Condition they did a good job also but their highlight was when they performed Atomic Dog so you know it went down! Last but not least was the talented Anthony Hamilton and he started off with a bang, this man took us to church like forreal it was crazy! Oh and i forgot to mention he was Jill Scott's surprise when she did their So in Love single and they put on a show!  Of course i have pics from the weekend and an outfit post.  I wore a Limited turquoise tube dress, Torrid corp jean jacket, Payless gold gladiators (not shown), and jewelry: earrings (JcPenney) and bangles (Torrid)
